A Little About Myself...Rita Condrat

I am attending Salt Lake Community College and working toward my degree in Visual Art and Design with an emphasis in Website Design. At this time I am about halfway through my studies, having begun in the summer semester of 2012.

Although this will be the first time I have sought a career in this specific field, I have already learned several skills pertinent to this type of work, nevertheless I have enjoyed and still am enjoying perfecting such skills in addition to picking up some fresh ideas and knowledge while I complete school.

Throughout my site here at www.badkittendesign.com, all the illustrations and designs are my own, and any photographs are those I took myself. As you may have already guessed, I am quite a fan of Art Nouveau and many styles from that period. Many of the images I designed for this site are strongly influenced by several of the graphical advertisements from that time. Alphonse Mucha, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Gustav Klimt are some of my favorites of that genre. I also am an admirer of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, of many aspects of her life as well as her art, and also the works of her husband, the muralist Diego Rivera.

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and enjoyed growing up amongst such beautiful country, and spent much of my childhood exploring and hiking throughout the mountains and desert all over the state. Utah would be perfect, in my opinion, if only it were closer to the ocean. For a time, I lived in Northern California in the town of Eureka. I love the musky scent of the ocean, and the lulling sound of the crash of waves...
